Donuts

For Mardis Gras (Means Fat Tuesday in English) in France, we cook several desserts as donuts, crepes, or waffles.

I suggest you follow me with this irresistible, crunchy and generous donuts recipe!

Ingredients for 15 donuts

  • 10 cl of milk
  • 40g of powdered sugar
  • 1/2 sachet of dry baker’s yeast
  • 2cl of warm water
  • 250g of flour
  • 30g butter
  • 1 egg
  • A liter and a half of frying oil

For glazing

  • 100g of philadelphia
  • 100g of dark chocolate

Preparation of my Mardi Gras donuts

First, heat the milk and mix it with the sugar and a pinch of salt. Add half of the flour and mix well.

In a glass mix the yeast with warm water and add it to the milk / flour mixture. Finally, mix with the beaten egg, the remaining flour and the melted butter. Knead a few minutes. Cover with a cloth and leave to rest for 45 minutes.

Flour your work plan, lower the dough to donuts to a centimeter thick. With a punch, or a metal circle cut out rounds in your dough. With a small cutter make a hole in the center so that your donut has the shape of the true donuts.

Place on paper towels. If you eat them without glazing, sprinkle lightly with sugar while they are hot.

Easy chocolate icing

In a saucepan, lightly heat philadelphia and chocolate. Spread the donuts with a spoon or brush. Finally to decorate, add colored sugar beads or vermicelli to the chocolate. Leave to stand for half an hour in a cool place for the frosting to take place.

To eat without moderation with the whole family!
