Spanish tapas: Tortilla española

Hola tortilla española! French love Spanish tapas. It is the same principle than French appetizers, but they have many different flavors.

For 4 people

Prep time: 30 min – Cooking time: 15 min


  • 8 eggs
  • 300 g of cooked potatoes
  • 1/4 onion
  • Olive oil
  • Salt & pepper

Directions for your tortilla española

  1. Peel the onions and chop them.
  2. In a hot skillet drizzled with olive oil: Add the onion with a pinch of salt. Cook over low heat and covered during 5 min.
  3. Break the eggs and beat them in omelette with a fork. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Put the beaten eggs in the skillet. When the mixture begins to thicken, flip the tortilla with a plate and cook again over medium heat for 3 minutes.
  5. Serve hot or cold.
